After more than 20 years in school leadership, including as a principal, the people on the other side of the table are not strangers to us. We understand how schools work, what families need from them, and what realistic resolution looks like within those constraints.
Whether the conflict is between a family and the school, within a staff team, or at a system level, we work in a way that accounts for the ongoing nature of those relationships. The parties have to keep going after the mediation ends. The agreement needs to reflect that.
